Jye is currently the Social Media Strategist for Switched On Media leading strategies across a range of clients.
Previous to this Jye was Marketing Executive for CBS Interactive, responsible for a range of innovation and marketing strategies across all brands. This included not only strategic partnerships but also driving product innovation through mobile and video strategies and community management.
Jye is especially passionate about three things: online communities, creating compelling content and driving conversation. He is also a writer, community builder and freelance digital media consultant specialising in social media, brand development and design. He regularly writes about these experiences in digital media at A Digital Perspective www.jyesmith.com — a blog discussing the lessons learnt and a place to share experiences and start conversations. The blog is currently ranked number 31 in the Top 50 Australian Marketing Pioneer Blogs and was recently listed as one of Australia’s top marketing blogs by technology journalist Brad Howarth of Lagrange Communications.
Prior to this, Jye was employed by AIMIA as the National Events Manager for two years, producing over 30 events throughout Australia. Through the coordination and execution of these informational sessions, and bearing witness to over 120 presentations from experts in digital media, Jye was able to learn through demonstration, and later in experience.
